The project includes numerous and varied individual removal and replacement tasks characterized by upgrades of finishes to the existing Recreation Center exercise spaces, locker rooms, equipment rooms as well as miscellaneous connecting hallways and offices. It also included major overhauls of the existing HVAC systems and swimming pool boiler system. Seismic upgrades to the roof structure above the gymnasium necessitated abatement of red-lead paint prior to welding new materials in place.
